The Chill-Its 6634 Cooling Headband is a low-profile wrap that wicks away sweat and moisture when worn dry and provides evaporative cooling relief when worn wet. The stretchy performance knit fabric and contoured design makes for a snug, comfortable fit on most head sizes. This skull wrap is rated to UPF 50+ for protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays and features an anti-odor treatment for fresh all-day wear. A reflective accent enhances visibility in low-light conditions. The low-profile design fits comfortably under a hard hat or helmet and is a great option for those with longer hair/ponytails. Ideal for construction, landscaping, roofing, or anyone working in the heat. It can also be used to reduce the risk of heat stress for outdoor recreational activities. Just soak in water until saturated, then wring out excess water. The evaporative cooling process begins instantly and lasts for hours when worn in environments with suitable airflow.

This is my second purchase of these. I have given a few to friends to try, and thus far. They also have high praises.

Think of this headband as a bandana without all the fuss of tying things. It’s built/stitched in such a way that it can be spread over your forehead while maintaining single band width in the back, instead of wearing a tube on your head. The trick is to just put it on your head and adjust its shape after, not the other way around, because that will never happen. The gathered seam can be worn low enough to clear the ratchet of my hardhat, thus avoiding extra squeeze pressure on my head, and the material is thin enough that the added layer under my hat was not significant, and I often forgot that I was wearing it, which is always a good thing. When worn as an evaporative device, I notice a distinct cooling effect, especially when air is flowing. It can feel a little stuffy under my hardhat as it dries out, but if you’re sweating, it should self-sustain the evaporation.
